Arguably the eyes of most RIFT players and fans this weekend were on the first closed beta test for Storm Legion, which is still top secret and under an NDA. There was some recent news that players can talk about though, including this exciting post by Senior Content Designer Tacitus in the General Discussion forum on October 5th:

Patch Notes

General
* You may now equip items of any armor type in your Wardrobe. Mix and match – the world is your closet!
Hold on, let me repeat that.
* You may now equip items of any armor type in your Wardrobe.

Thus far players have had their cosmetic gear limited by armor types, meaning that plate-wearing warriors can dress up in anything while poor mages are limited to cloth gear for their Wardrobe. After this change mages can wear plate, rogues can wear robes — it will be chaos! Fun, fun, chaos.

Tacitus said that this change would be in the “upcoming patch”, which implies 1.11 and not Storm Legion proper. That means we’re likely to see it happen by the end of October at the latest.

Actually, while Warriors could wear anything for combat purposes (and likewise Clerics for leather and cloth, rogues for cloth) every class was restricted to their default armour types for wardrobe purposes.

Me being a warrior restricted my toon to put only plate in my wardrobe slot (as Joe points out). This change is long awaited for by many players and reading that post yesterday made me a very happy wardrobe nutta :) Thx Trion!

    Bad research, riftjunkies :(
For cosmetic gear I was always limited by my class’ gear. Plate for Warriors, chainmail for Clerics and so on…
