Guide Cleric AOE Farm

There are many options when it comes to Cleric builds that are great for general questing, reputation farming, or rift hunting, but one of most versatile options that’s also extremely multi-pull friendly is a solo Defiler build. Here’s one such example– the 59 Defiler / 17 Cabalist / 0 Justicar. Farming builds are generally a little more fluid when it comes to personal choice. There are a lot of other awesome leveling builds out there even using the same base souls, so feel free to use this build as a loose guide.

This build focuses on ranged combat and uses the Defiler tanking Beacon to take the brunt of the damage you’ll run into. Besides AoE farming, this build is pretty awesome for farming dynamic content, quests, and dailies at level 60 as well as supporting groupmates in Greater Hunt rifts and 5-mans dungeons. You’ll have quite a few options for healing, which lends to the great versatility of this spec. The build also does well for leveling, but it may not be completely practical for AoE farming until around level 30.

Note: This guide is based off a guide originally found on the official RIFT forums and written by Truff.

The Agonist Title Picture

The Agonist is a serious death dealer which can maim your enemies and protect your allies.  Trion listed the Defiler soul as a healing soul, however, this soul has much more potential than just being a healing soul.  By combining the Defiler and Cabalist souls, this spec reeks of death, and your tank will thank you after that huge pull.

Agonist Spec purpose:  Solo, AoE Damage, and tank/group damage reduction.

Storm Legion is almost upon us, and thanks to the fun-filled beta weekends, Patch 1.11, and Trion’s media coverage and live streams, the last few weeks have literally been a storm of new information for fans to digest. There’s no denying the fact that there are some cool, new features headed our way in Storm Legion, but what about what’s already changed in 1.11? We’ve just seen some major changes to our favorite callings, and some of the new Storm Legion souls are quite impressive. At times like this it’s almost inevitable that many players will rethink their main classes.

There’s also the fact that many of our current souls have seen complete playstyle shifts. One of most challenging aspects about RIFT’s intricate soul system is the fact that Trion has to almost keep constant watch on balance, and be ready to tweak certain callings if necessary (and they certainly aren’t afraid to do so!). The tweaks aren’t always to everyone’s liking, naturally, but perfect balance between every single calling is something we may never see, unfortunately, which is part of the reason why we see constant tweaks.

The good news? RIFT’s complex soul system does have some obvious perks, and one of those is the fact that since we have so many options available to us, if we’re unhappy with a particular role, spec, or soul, it’s fairly simple to change things up and try our hands at a new playstyle. And if that doesn’t work? With Storm Legion upon our doorstep, now’s the perfect time to consider changing mains.

Some of us have already seen a bit of the Defiler– the expansion’s new Cleric soul– in action on Storm Legion’s beta server, but for those who haven’t, here is all the information and highlights from Friday’s Cleric reveal live stream, which will most likely be viewable on Trion’s TwitchTV page shortly. For now, if you’d like to watch it, it can be found on Youtube.

The Defiler soul’s slightly different from the other new Storm Legion souls thematically. The team referred to the soul as “tragically misunderstood.” It is a ranged healing soul, capable of both AoE healing and tank healing, as well as putting out decent damage. Defilers are unique in that they balance both life and death within their fingertips. The soul does require some fairly in-depth strategy to play to its full potential, which may be why it’s somewhat misunderstood thus far.
