Drowned halls is Rift’s second Sliverm or 10-man raid. It is designed to be a little easier than Gilded Prophecy, to better facilitate those people stumbling over the obvious gap between Tier 2 Expert gear and many of the bosses in Gilded Prophecy. While I can tell you it achieves this goal, the DPS checks are a little lighter, but with less damage going around, further, mechanically a few of the fights can be much more unforgiving.

Like Gilded Prophecy, the gear you will see in the Drowned Halls is on par with most items from GSB and RoS, with some select items even being best in slot for certain callings and roles (I’m looking at you, The Cold Heart!)

With 1.3′s World Event moving into it’s final phase and raiders around the world begin the race to defeating Akylios, Trion moves on to the future. Today we get a small glance with some screenshots from new landscapes and quest hubs, PVP Rifts, and the new 10 man Sliver: Drowned Halls.

The videos and report in this article come from the German guild Result on the EU server Immerwacht. The new 10 man dungeon is on the PTS which is called “Drowned Halls” which is equivalent, gear wise, with the other 10 man dungeons and 20 man raids. The difficulty is reportedly easier that the Gilded Prophecy. The location of this new dungeon is in Scarwood Reach (loc 2950/4150).

One night on the PTS a GM pulled groups of players into the instance for testing. As we heard from Scott Hartsman last week, we are beginning to see RIFT’s push for more casual content. If Drownded Halls is easier than Gilded Prophecy, we are going to start seeing content more casual players will be able to complete in a PUG group.
