marksman rogue dps guide header

This is a guide for the 61 Marksman spec that’s suitable for most types of gameplay in RIFT including leveling, raiding, and all types of endgame group activities. It’s a pure ranged Rogue spec and features fantastic mobility, solid utility, and a rotation that’s fairly simple to learn. It won’t do quite as much DPS as most melee Rogue specs, but as a ranged spec it performs solidly.

61 inquisitor guide header

Inquisitor is arguably one of the most solid, all-around souls in the game. It can be used in every aspect of the game and perform outstandingly. Whether you’re looking for a decent leveling build to quickly slice through mobs, mash out some serious numbers on the damage meters in endgame raids, dominate Warfronts with fast, hard-hitting bolts or go back and solo old content, Inquisitor has tools for every job! In this guide, I’m going to be showing you how to get the most out of Inquisitor in almost every scenario.

Laethys chronicle header

Earlier in the week we saw the appearance of a new chronicle on the public test shard known as “Infernal Dawn: Laethys”. This chronicle takes place in an alternate reality where Laethys, more commonly known as the dragon of earth, was never defeated (same reality Voodoo are in perhaps?). Unopposed, she has now grown in power and seeks the means to tear down the sliver barrier and cross over into our reality to invade an unsuspecting Telara. This chronicle is marked as a duo chronicle and is intended for two players, however at the moment it is possible for a single player to solo it.

rhino tempest bay

Ah, summer. That time of sticky sunshine, outings to the beach, hot dogs aplenty, bug repellant, and (hopefully) lots of booze-filled evenings. Summer’s hit Telara by storm starting today with the arrival of Summerfest– RIFT‘s celebration of the warm days, the cool nights, the great outdoors, and the prospect of adventure.

Summerfest has more to offer this year with the arrival of new Storm Legion scavenger hunts, achievements, rewards, pets, and swimwear to grab, a new zone event, and special Daily Login Gifts that have a chance of rewarding bonus Credits and Summerfest goodies. There are also all of the returning scavenger hunts, rewards, daily quests, and companions to capture and complete from last year. This guide will cover all of the updates made this year. If you’re new to RIFT, make sure to check out our guide from last year, which covers the scavenger hunts and quests that take place in non-Storm Legion zones.

Guide Cleric Healing

The Sentinel Cleric soul is a versatile healing soul that can be used for either 5-mans or raiding. It offers a wide range of single target, bursty heals with various cast times and a decent amount of AoE healing that can even do well in a raid with the right soul pairing. Sentinel also has a good number of cooldowns and tank cooldowns. In a 5-man Expert, it makes an excellent solo healing soul. In a raid, Sentinels can offer some of the versatility of a Chloromancer as well as a palette of useful cooldows for progression attempts.

There are a few solid Sentinel specs out there, but here are two– the 61 Sentinel / 12 Warden / 3 Inquisitor and the 61 Sentinel / 15 Purifier / 0 Warden. The spec with Warden is more suited for healing in a raid environment while the spec with Purifier is better for 5-man Experts and other smaller group content.

Guide Cleric Raid Healing

The best Cleric raid healing soul in RIFT currently is the Warden soul. While Chloromancers are arguably more efficient raid healers in general and provide more DPS for their group, Warden healers have a lot of tricks up their sleeves when it comes to quickly recovering from raid damage spikes that are both quick and relentless. Warden cooldowns are also some of the best available. Wardens are also very mobile healers, which can be extremely helpful in many fights.

The hardest part about playing a Warden effectively is learning which heals to cast when and figuring out how to predict the many different types of damage you’ll see in a given raid. Choosing a Warden spec, at least, is pretty simply. Here’s one of the most effective builds– the 61 Warden / 12 Sentinel / 3 Inquisitor build.

Guide Cleric Raid Shielding

For many progression fights, having a Cleric Purifier in the raid group is extremely helpful due to the Purifier’s ability to shield players and thus absorb a great deal of damage. There are a few variants of this healing spec out there, but this is one version that effectively gives you everything you need to throw up as many raid shields as possible while giving you plenty of options for high HPS (healing-per-second) and raid utility.

Here’s the build– the 54 Purifier / 21 Sentinel / 1 Inquisitor spec. This spec complements Chloromancer HPS with raw shielding and focusing ability. When there are periods of burst damage on a few but preferably one player, Purifier is often the ideal role. The spec also brings Empowering Light, an AoE cleanse, and Sterilize, a complete single-target cleanse.

Guide cleric leveling melee

When solo leveling a Cleric, it’s usually best to use a build that mixes together decent damage-per-second (DPS) along with great survivability options that give you plenty of options for taking on tough mobs or groups of mobs. One of the best solo leveling builds is currently Druid mixed with a bit of Justicar and Shaman. The following build is one such example of this combination– the 50 Druid / 16 Justicar / 10 Shaman. Now, leveling builds are generally a little more fluid when it comes to personal choice. There are a lot of other awesome leveling builds out there, so feel free to use this build as a loose guide.

This build focuses on melee combat and uses the Druid tanking Satyr to take the brunt of the damage you’ll run into. Besides leveling, this build is pretty awesome for farming dynamic content, quests, and dailies at level 60. It does okay during dungeons while leveling, but you’ll probably want to to switch to a pure DPS spec for doing 5-man dungeons and other group content at level 60.

guide cleric melee dps

When it comes to pure damage-dealing (DPS) options on a Cleric, there are currently only a few viable options if you really want the most bang for your buck when it comes to raids and other endgame group content. This spec– the 61 Shaman / 10 Druid / 5 Inquisitor spec– is currently one of them. This is a melee DPS spec, and is one of the hardest Cleric specs to master currently.

It can be used while leveling, but it’s probably better-geared toward a pure DPS spec for raids and other endgame group content. Since it’s melee, you’re going to only want to use it on bosses that can be safely melee’d for the majority of the fight. That said, if you are able to safely melee during a boss fight and understand this spec well, you should be able to do more damage with this spec than using an Inquisitor spec.
