MMO players are sometimes a dangerous lot. If developers allow an unintended bug to stay in-game for a few days, players will find a way to have a little fun abusing it– sometimes at the expense of others’ enjoyment. Similar events happened in World of Warcraft more than once (ZG, anyone?), and we’ve seen one similar in RIFT, back in GSB. Now it seems we’ve got another case of an unintended raid bug. This one comes to us from Infernal Dawn, during the Rusila encounter.

In the encounter, a cannon targets a player with an AoE effect, and if the player just happens to accept a guild rally from a guildmate anywhere in Telara, any players in the area with the banner (whether flagged or not) will get hit with an attack called “Barrel of Dragon’s Breath” that hits for about 26,000 damage. Ouch! Talk about finding a way to add a bang to the normal Meridian/Sanctum doldrums.
