Should you be advernterous (or crazy) enough to partake in endgame raiding in Rift, please consider the following statement:

For you, raiding is all about getting the phattest, shiniest purpz, in the shortest time possible. Be ruthless, vindictive; willing to ransack guild banks, ninja dungeon loot, and cause deception and chaos at the drop of a hat.

If you agree with the above statement, then you are probably a member of the Rogue calling. Now, you might be thinking, I knows how to play rog! 12222222222212222222212222223… done. What do I win? But there is a problem here. You do not win anything until you prove yourself. To prove yourself, you must first learn to win at DPS meters, because DPS meters are fundamentally evil. To defeat these evil DPS meters, you must first assail them with raw, button mashing crits, until all trash mobs, bosses, and members of the opposing faction have been obliterated. Only then can you win at DPS.

You might have it in your soloing spec. Maybe it is in your tanking spec. It’s almost certainly one of your melee dps specs. Bladedancer has many strengths for all rogue roles but it’s capacity for damage is hard to beat. As well as offering several utilities for the rogue that are unique to the Bladedancer soul.

Being energy starved is one of the largest limitations for rogues. Combat Efficiency is the only talent or skill (other than Verse of Joy) that offers any energy return. Since every finisher will be used at five combo points, the return is always a max fifteen energy. Allowing for a forty energy skill to be used after every finisher without any wait.

If you had one role and you had to choose one spec for all current raid content, what would you choose? I would choose nothing but a saboteur spec. Why? Simple, saboteur is the most versatile soul in the rogues lineup. Offering the ability to go from melee to range as needed losing less damage than other souls. Depending on how deep you go into the soul, saboteur offers several forms of utility to the raid.

There are a lot of primal cats prowling the city these days. This comes as no surprise, as Beastmaster is one of the three souls of the first offensive warrior cookie cutter specialization. For warriors looking to perform maximum damage, Beastmaster is king. Say what you will about the hideous pinkish-purple companion, this sidekick packs a punch. So, put away your one-handers, wave goodbye to the flashy animations of Paragon, and join me after the break for the specialization competing warriors don’t want you to know about…

Who ever thought that any game would have a Rogue capable of main tanking any major content? Well RIFT has brought that to us. This build is made for end-gaming tanking of expert dungeons and raids. If you are interested in a build for lower level dungeons, you can use any combination of this build. You also might want to supplement some Blade Dancer at for some of the low level dungeons as well, however low level tanking is not the main point of this article.

The Riftstalker is a pretty hearty build. It might not have as many multi-target aggro controls as a Warrior, or the versatility of a Void Knight, but the Riftstalker can tank any content as long as the user knows what they are doing. The Riftstalker is also less gear dependent that a warrior. You can tank a few of the T1 Experts with just minimal gear levels. The main focus of the Riftstalker is hitpoints and absorption.

For the full spec layout, please keep reading, or join in the discussion on our forums.
