There comes a time in every warrior’s life when quest gear just doesn’t cut it anymore. When a dozen trips to the dye vendor can’t conceal the greenish tint of your minty fresh Level 50 tag, it’s time to head into the belly of the beast. After all, you didn’t come this far to stand around and listen to NPCs chit chat about faeries. Yes, you’re going to have to slog through the intestines of every mechanic of every boss in every dungeon and rip epic armor from the bowels of teamwork. It’s a dirty job, but someone has to save Telara from Regulos. Why not you?

Henry Kissinger once said, “The task of the leader is to get his people from where they are to where they have not been.” This is the primary task of the defensive warrior. He/she is a leader, a coach – someone who moves to inspire and motivate others to persevere over the toughest of obstacles. To be the leader is not an easy task. In Part 3 of the Warrior Overview players will be introduced to various roles, the defensive souls and play-styles, in addition to suggested talent specializations and rotations.

Hey everyone, I had a couple of random posts I wanted to get out tonight, one of them being on the differences between Hot Fixes and Class Balance patches.

There has been a lot of traffic on the forums questioning why we have been making small changes here and there but haven’t yet put out a large patch to deal with XXX or YYY. Ultimately what it comes down to is what we do via Hot Fixes and what we do via balance passes.

Hot fixes, in general encompass easy, low risk items that traditionally target a specific ability or set of abilities that are broken and not functioning as intended, or that we find are being used to trivialize specific pieces of content. Many of these are small systematic changes in response to various events in the game, and can occur on a daily basis.

If you jonesing for more information out of PAX, you can always take to the Official Forums. AutomaticZen took the time to write his impressions for everyone. He talks about dungeons and rifts among other things. Here’s what he had to say about the Warrior Souls.

Beastmaster - The Warrior Pet class, nothing more to say here.
Champion – This is the straight DPS warrior, the charge move Bull Rush, is in this tree.
Paladin – This is the first Warrior tank spec, focusing on blocking techniques using a shield
Paragon – The best way to put this would be Warrior/Rogue. The flavor text has a ‘Monk’ feel to it, but it mentions weapons so I’m not seeing it as an unarmed class. Lots of focus on Dodge, Parry, and Dexerity.
Reaver- The second tank spec is focused on threat generating DOTS, and has a good AOE focus is specced in a certain way.
Riftblade – I didn’t focus much on this one, wait for the video
Void Knight – The third tank class I noted. Anti-magic and some resistances.
Warlord- This is the Warrior buff class. Alot of buffs for your party, both active and passive. I’m viewing this as something a tank or dps would drop a couple of points in to give the group a helping hand in both PVE and PVP.
